Any export-capable recorder

Keep the recorder you trust. Add the AI after capture.

You do not need to replace a reliable Sony, Philips, Zoom or other handheld recorder just to gain an AI workspace. If the device gives you a supported audio file, Rintori can preserve it, transcribe it and connect it with the rest of your recorded life.

Where each part fits

01

The recorder

Dedicated recorders can offer physical controls, removable workflows and predictable capture without tying the recording to one AI service.

02

Rintori

Rintori adds the AI and memory layer after capture, so the hardware and intelligence service do not have to be purchased as one closed bundle.

03

Connection to Rintori

File upload. Rintori does not remotely control generic recorders. You transfer the file yourself, and unusual formats may need a supported export from the recorder's own software.

How to bring the recording into Rintori

Three checkable steps. No implied integration between the lines.

  1. 01

Record on the device and retain the untouched source file.

  2. 02

Transfer an MP3, WAV or other supported audio export to the phone or computer running Rintori.

  3. 03

Upload it, confirm uncertain capture time, and review the transcript before relying on generated notes.

What this combination is useful for

People with an existing handheld recorder who value file ownership, interviews, lectures or long-form capture.

Research interviews

Preserve each interview as evidence and keep generated themes separate from the participant's actual words.

Lectures

Return to a difficult explanation by its recorded moment rather than depending only on condensed notes.

Recorder migration

Change hardware later without splitting your Rintori memory into another device-specific library.

What Rintori adds after capture

  • One timeline for imported and browser-recorded audio
  • Original audio preserved separately from transcripts and AI output
  • Source-linked answers that take you back to the recorded moment
  • Tasks, calendar entries and speaker identities remain suggestions until you confirm

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which digital voice recorders work with Rintori?

Any recorder can be a source when it exports an audio file Rintori accepts. Compatibility depends on the file, not a device badge; MP3 and WAV are the simplest documented paths.

Do I need a Plaud device?

No. Plaud has a direct connected import, but ordinary recorder files can be uploaded manually.

Does Rintori overwrite my recorder's original file?

No. Rintori stores its canonical copy and keeps generated or edited layers separate from the source evidence.
